This 6-hour movie Robin and I enjoyed at Sundance Film Festival is being shown as a series of 1-hour segments on the Sundance Channel on Monday evenings at 10:00 p.m. starting on Monday, April 8. We loved it and recommend it. For more information
Directed by Jane Campian and Garth Davis. Cast: Elizabeth Moss, who plays Peggy Olson on Mad Men (sixth season premieres tonight on AMC), plays the part of Detective Robin Griffin. Other cast members are: Holly Hunter, Peter Mullen and David Wenham.
The Sundance program description is: “A 12-year-old girl stands chest-deep in a frozen lake. She is 5-months pregnant, and won’t say who the father is. Then she disappears. So begins a haunting mystery that consumes a community.”
In the Parade magazine today Walter Scott asks Elizabeth, “What drew you to ‘Top of the Lake’?” Her reply: “I read the first few scripts and was blown away by the uniqueness of the story. Another big draw was how different it was from Peggy, which would be a challenge.”
For Elizabeth Moss fans, here is an opportunity to see her play two distinct roles. I never saw her in Mad Men but she was great as Detective Robin Griffin and I intend to watch her again. Hope you do too.
