What have I learned?
1. How to quickly remove pomegranate seeds. Joel Fuhrman, M.D. demoed this on Dr. Oz:
- Make a 1/2 inch deep cut in circumference of pomegranate;
- Twist it apart;
- Place cut side down on your palm over a bowl;
- Hit with handle of a wooden spoon. Red seeds fall out. Continue until skin is empty;
- 4 or 5 pouches of membrane will still hold seeds and may now be easily opened to release last seeds;
You can freeze the seeds and have them available when pomegranates are out of season. Dr. Fuhrman is the author of Eat to Live .
2. How to detox my liver. Dr. Oz suggested drinking this cocktail every morning:
- 1/2 Cup hot water;
- juice of lemon wedge;
- 2 dashes of hot sauce.
3. Doesn’t take long to learn to waste a lot of time.
During this past month I went to the Sundance Film Festival. Tomorrow I will post info about the films I saw.
